Master crafter and mum to 3 young girls
I’m the face behind In Craft Corner. I create all of the handmade products in my home, working around the ‘never-a-dull-moment’ childhood of my own three girls.
I found my love of creating very early on in life, learning hand-sewing, crochet and knitting from my mum, and enjoying them at school too. I took up cross stitching in my 20s, and soon discovered a love of making things on a sewing machine, just like my mum did when I was young, making me outfits for competitions and fun days.
I started making a few items of clothing here and there for my friends and my own children, giving them something a little different to wear, because I didn’t always like the things in the shops. I also made covers for Tripp Trapp Highchairs, which proved very popular on eBay.
Then, having worked in retail for 13 years, I decided I wanted more flexibility around bringing up my girls, and I started sewing full time from home in 2014, developing the range of products I now offer today. As a mum myself, I know what’s really useful and what babies seem to love, and all of the items I offer have been tested on my own children, who took very well to dressing up and posing for product photos, too!
I’m always looking at new products and designs, and I’m very proud that everything I produce carries the CE safety mark.
I’m a small business, but I’m very passionate about what I do, and I have all sorts of plans in the pipeline for In Craft Corner –always with babies, babyhood and memories at the heart of everything I do.
